Photography
Here are some photos I have taken within the past couple of years. Shot on iPhone XR, iPhone 15, or Canon EOS Rebel T7.
The Beginning: iPhone XR Photos
In the beginning, there was nothing. Well…there was something. This was a time period where I wasn’t confident in my skills as a creative or as a “novice photographer.” I had no idea what rule of thirds meant, or why leading lines were so satisfying to look at. It was when I took a beginner class for media production—a major requirement—that I really started to understand photography. I learned basic rules, principles, the best angles for my photos, lights, and post-production. My confidence grew, and so did my photo-taking abilities.
Here is a handful of those photos from when I started to understand these fundamentals.

The Realization: iPhone 15 Photos
Around the time I received my iPhone 15, I was about to embark on a journey that would change my life: study abroad in London. While it was my first time traveling overseas and in Europe, my skills really began to bloom here. This was where I learned a really important rule: always pay attention. Some of your best photos can come from a candid of a few people, or a small moment that many people would breeze past. In an ever-busy world, it’s always good to pay attention.
My photos really evolved here in quality (not just because of the camera, but it did help!). I started to look at my surroundings differently, what was going on, and what moments really caught my eye. My confidence as a photographer grew, and I’m so proud of the photos I’ve taken over the past year.

The Blossoming: Canon EOS Rebel T7 Photos
Once my confidence grew with my phone, I felt ready to take on a new challenge: taking pictures with an actual camera! I received a Canon Rebel T7 and a wide lens from my parents at Christmas, and later asked for a long lens for graduation.
Taking photos with a physical camera came with challenges, such as learning how to manually adjust the camera settings for the perfect environment and keeping the camera steady. I’m still learning how to properly use the camera, but I’d say I’m off to a great start!
